What are kitchen cabinet storage accessories?
Kitchen cabinet storage accessories are add-on parts that make the inside of a cabinet easier to use. They include corner organizers, pull-outs, drawer dividers, mixer lifts, pull-down shelves and trash pull-outs. They do not change the cabinet. They change how well you can reach what is inside.
Innovation Cabinetry, a Tampa, Florida cabinet company, sells a set of these accessories. Its home page describes “a carefully curated selection of cabinetry storage accessories.” The Storage Solutions page says each accessory “maximizes the additional cabinet space inherent in our frameless designed cabinetry.” Its 2025 catalog, titled “STORAGE SOLUTIONS: The Ultimate Guide to Efficient Kitchen & Bath Storage,” was made together with Rev-A-Shelf, an accessory maker.
This guide uses only the items on the company’s page and in its 2025 catalog. The page says these are “just a few of the many storage solutions” it offers and points to the catalog for the full line. Cabinets sell through authorized dealers, so your dealer can order the accessories with your cabinets.
Why do accessories matter in a frameless kitchen?
Frameless cabinets already give you more usable space, because there is no face frame in the way. Accessories help you use that space well. Without them, deep base cabinets and corners become places where items get lost. An accessory brings those items into view.
Our frameless design gives “15% more storage space” than framed cabinets, as our Diamond Difference page explains.
The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) publishes planning guidelines. They are not company claims and not a sales pitch. One guideline says: “Storage/organizing items can enhance the functional capacity of wall, base, drawer, and pantry storage, and should be selected to meet user needs.” Another says: “At least one corner cabinet should include a functional storage device.” Both support the idea that accessories are part of a good plan, not an afterthought.
For more on why frameless boxes give better access, read the guide on frameless vs face frame cabinets and the page on frameless cabinets.
What corner solutions are available?
Corners are the hardest places to reach. The company lists two corner solutions: a Lazy Susan and a blind corner optimizer. Each one brings stored items out to you. Choose by the type of corner cabinet you have.
Lazy Susan
A lazy susan is a rotating shelf. “Our Lazy Susan features two rimmed shelves in a sleek natural wood, polymer or a contemporary metal finish. The adjustable shelves rotate independently.” It is “designed specifically to fit hard-to-reach corner base cabinets.”
Independent shelves are useful. You can spin pots on one level and spices on another.
Blind corner optimizer
A blind corner cabinet has a door opening that sits to the side of the box, so the back of the cabinet is hard to reach. The company offers “a range of four distinct blind corner optimizers” and says all options ensure “smooth and quiet opening and closing.”
Rev-A-Shelf, the catalog partner, describes how one type works: “Not only do these lazy susan trays pivot out of your base blind corner cabinet, they then slide out for easy access to all the contents of your cabinet.” The Innovation Cabinetry page does not say which of the four styles uses this action. Ask your dealer for a catalog page.
| Corner type | Accessory to look at | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Corner base with a diagonal or bi-fold door | Lazy Susan | Rotates two shelves so items come to the door |
| Blind corner base | Blind corner optimizer | Slides or pivots shelves out of the blind area |
What pull-out organizers does the company list?
The company lists four pull-outs for narrow base cabinets: utensil, tray divider, utensil and knife block, and paper towel and storage. A pull-out is a narrow shelf unit that rolls out on glides. See the pull-out organizer glossary entry.
- Utensil pull-out. A “two-tier natural maple utility organizer” with “three stainless steel bins.” It features Blumotion soft-close runners.
- Tray divider. It “offers two compartments ideal for storing baking sheets and pans, along with a removable center rack for accommodating larger items.” It has Blumotion soft-close glides.
- Utensil and knife block. It has “Flex Rod technology that adjusts to securely hold a variety of knives.” It includes four color-coded cutting mats, lower shelf storage, a stainless steel utensil bin and an adjustable top shelf.
- Paper towel and storage. A natural maple pull-out with soft-close glides. It “accommodates standard large rolls of paper towels,” with space for cleaning supplies.
Blumotion is a soft-close system from Blum, the glide maker. The company names it on the page. See the drawer glide glossary entry for how glides work.
Which drawer organizers are included?
The company lists three drop-in drawer organizers: a cutlery and utensil divider, a knife organizer and spice storage. All are made for easy installation. None requires a cabinet change. You trim them to fit.
- Cutlery and utensil divider. “Easy-to-install” and “available in four sizes,” and it “easily trims to fit a variety of drawer dimensions.”
- Knife organizer. Natural maple finish with “one compartment with up to 19 knife slots.” It trims to fit existing drawers.
- Spice storage. Drop-in, with a trim-to-fit feature. It has “one rear compartment and up to three tiers of shelving,” so you can see your spices.
These are the simplest upgrades. They install fast and need no cabinet change. Check the drawer’s inside width and depth first. Cabinet drawers on Innovation Cabinetry’s dovetail drawer boxes and slim metal drawers have different interior dimensions, so measure the drawer you own.
What are mixer lifts and pull-downs?
A mixer lift raises a heavy stand mixer from inside a base cabinet to counter height. A pull-down lowers the top shelf of a wall cabinet to eye level. Both save lifting and reaching. The company lists one of each under “Unique Storage Solutions.”
Mixer lift
The company describes a lift “designed with a heavy-duty metal frame and a walnut shelf to support today’s modern mixers.” It has “a soft-close dampener, allowing it to glide back into the cabinet gently and smoothly.” A spring-loaded system helps move the appliance to counter height. The page does not list the weight limit. Ask your dealer for the rating before you load a large mixer.
Pull-downs
Our pull-downs are designed specifically for 24 inch and 36 inch frameless wall cabinets. Key features:
- Solid wood shelving.
- The system mounts securely to the cabinet floor and side walls.
- A gas-assisted lifting and lowering mechanism that locks into the down position.
The company calls the result “hands-free accessibility.” The page does not list a weight limit for pull-downs either, so ask.
What trash options are there?
The company lists trash can storage in a wood drawer box or a contemporary metal design. Both pair with durable polymer waste containers. It says “Every option includes standard soft-close technology.” A separate vanity trash organizer is also listed.
- Kitchen trash storage. Choose a wood drawer box or a metal design. The cans are polymer.
- Vanity trash. The Trash Bin Organizer has natural maple dovetail construction and Blum undermount soft-close glides. It includes “a 20-quart gray container and a rear storage area for trash bags.”
Trash pull-outs hide the bin and keep the floor clear. Size the bin to how often you empty it. Follow your local trash and recycling rules for how many containers you need.
Are there accessories for vanity bases?
Yes, three. The company lists accessories for vanity base cabinets, not vanity cabinets themselves. They are the L-shaped personal-care pull-out, the U-shaped vanity pullout and the vanity trash organizer. Both pull-outs are built to work around plumbing.
- L-shaped personal-care pull-out. Natural maple dovetail construction with Blum undermount soft-close glides. It “works around plumbing and other obstructions” and “is installed on either the left or right side.” It suits hairdryers and grooming items.
- U-shaped vanity pullout. A “Vanity Base Cabinet Organizer” with the same maple and glide build. It goes around plumbing. The lower shelf has a non-skid vinyl lining.
The Storage Solutions page does not offer bath cabinets as a product. These are accessories only. If you need cabinets for a bath, ask your dealer which Innovation Cabinetry products apply. See the closets page for other storage the company offers.
How do you choose the right accessory?
Match the accessory to the problem. List what you struggle to find or reach. Measure the cabinet inside. Then choose the smallest fix that solves it. A simple plan avoids buying parts that do not fit.
| Your problem | Accessory type | Item from the catalog |
|---|---|---|
| Deep corner you cannot reach | Corner | Lazy Susan or blind corner optimizer |
| Pots and pans pile up | Pull-out | Tray divider |
| Utensils jumble in a drawer | Drawer | Cutlery and utensil divider |
| Knives dull in a drawer | Drawer | Knife organizer |
| Mixer is too heavy to lift | Unique | Mixer lift |
| Top shelf is too high | Unique | Pull-downs |
| Trash can sits in the open | Trash | Trash can storage |
| Plumbing blocks the vanity base | Vanity | L-shaped or U-shaped pull-out |
A simple selection process
- Walk through your kitchen and list five items you cannot reach.
- Group the items by cabinet.
- Measure the inside width, depth and height of each cabinet.
- Match each cabinet to an accessory type.
- Ask your dealer to confirm fit with your cabinet line and size.
- Order accessories with the cabinets, so they ship together.
The soft-close hinge and glide quality of the cabinet matter too. A good accessory on a weak drawer will still feel poor. The Urban and EliteCraft lines list soft-close hinges and full-extension glides’s brochures.
Where do you buy storage accessories?
Through an authorized dealer. Innovation Cabinetry does not sell directly to homeowners. The Storage Solutions page offers a catalog download. Open it, mark the pages you like, and take them to your dealer. The page also reminds buyers that the cabinetry pictured is for display only.
Ask the dealer about stock, lead time and warranty for each accessory. The company’s page does not state them. See also the warranty page and the catalogs page.
Next step
Open the Storage Solutions page, download the catalog and mark the items that solve your biggest problems. Then find a dealer to order them with your cabinets.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best storage accessories for a corner cabinet?
A Lazy Susan or a blind corner optimizer. Innovation Cabinetry lists a Lazy Susan with two rimmed shelves that rotate independently for corner base cabinets, and four blind corner optimizers. Pick based on whether the corner has a diagonal door or a blind opening. Your dealer can confirm the fit.
Do these accessories work in all Innovation Cabinetry lines?
Our accessories maximize the space inside its frameless cabinets and that the catalog was made with Rev-A-Shelf. It does not list fit by collection on the page we reviewed. Ask your dealer to confirm that an item fits the cabinet size and line you choose.
Can I add accessories after the cabinets are installed?
Often yes, but it depends on the item and the cabinet. Drop-in drawer dividers need no tools and trim to fit. Pull-outs and lift systems mount inside the box and need matching cabinet widths. Ask your dealer for the item's size needs before you buy.
What is a mixer lift?
A mixer lift is a spring-loaded shelf that raises a heavy stand mixer to counter height. The company's version has a heavy-duty metal frame, a walnut shelf and a soft-close dampener so the shelf glides back gently. It sits inside a base cabinet. Confirm cabinet width with your dealer.
Do you need pull-downs in wall cabinets?
They help if you cannot reach the top shelf. The company lists pull-downs for 24 inch and 36 inch frameless wall cabinets, with solid wood shelving and a gas-assisted mechanism that locks in the down position. They are useful for shorter users or anyone who prefers to avoid a step stool.
Do the pictures on the page show Innovation Cabinetry products?
Not always. The Storage Solutions page carries a disclaimer: the cabinetry shown is for display only and does not represent Innovation Cabinetry products. The accessories are what the page describes. Check cabinet details on the product pages and with your dealer.
