Drawer glide
A drawer glide is the metal slide that lets a drawer open and close smoothly, and its weight rating tells you how much the drawer can carry.
A glide is the track under or beside a drawer. Good glides roll without sticking and hold a full load. Full extension glides let the drawer open all the way, so you can reach the back.
Two things to check are the weight rating and the closing action. A soft-close glide slows the drawer at the end. Concealed under-mount glides sit out of sight.
Urban's brochure says its "Full extension concealed under-mount soft-close glides support weights up to 75 lbs." Profile and Maverick Garageworx list soft-close glides that support weights up to 100 lbs with 3/4 inch extension. Endura offers a Poly-Glide system and an optional stainless steel soft-close system. See Urban, Maverick Garageworx and the garage cabinet guide. Compare with a dovetail drawer.
