Frameless cabinet
A frameless cabinet has no front face frame, so doors mount directly on the box sides and the whole opening stays usable, with more room for drawers and shelves.
A frameless cabinet is built as a plain box. The doors attach straight to the box sides, and there is no wood frame across the front. The opening is wider because nothing sits in the way.
This matters when you choose cabinets. You can fit bigger drawers and pull items out more easily. Innovation Cabinetry says its full access frameless cabinets give 15% more storage than framed cabinets. from its EliteCraft, Urban and Profile brochures.
The Urban collection, EliteCraft and Maverick Garageworx pages describe their cabinets as frameless. Frameless boxes depend on strong sides. The brochures say EliteCraft and Urban use a 3/4 inch plywood box. Compare this with a face frame cabinet. Read the full guide at frameless cabinets, then ask a dealer to show you a sample box.
