Doors and finishes
Thermofoil
Thermofoil is a vinyl film heated and pressed onto a shaped door to make a smooth, one-piece finish that wipes clean easily.
Thermofoil is a thin vinyl sheet. A press heats it and pulls it over a door core, usually MDF. The film wraps the shape and leaves no brush marks or seams on the face.
It is easy to clean. Heat is its weak point. A door near an oven or a toaster can see the film lift over time. Some people use it for painted-look doors in rooms without much heat.
The Innovation Cabinetry catalog and brochures list no thermofoil product. Its doors use painted finishes, TFL or lacquer finishes instead. The Urban brochure describes TFL lacquer finishes that are fingerprint resistant or high gloss. Read about finishes on the Urban page and see the kitchen cabinet styles and colors page.
