Marine-grade polymer
Marine-grade polymer is a plastic cabinet material made to handle constant moisture, sun and salt without rotting, swelling or needing a new finish.
Marine-grade polymer is a name for plastics used in boats and docks. The material resists water, UV light and salt. It does not rot. The term is a trade description, not a formal standard, so check what the plastic is.
The most common cabinet version is HDPE. Outdoor kitchens use it because wood and wood-based boards can swell and peel outside.
Innovation Cabinetry's Endura brochure calls its material "3/4" marine-grade, all-weather high-density polyethylene (HDPE)." The Endura datasheet says it "meets ASTM D4976." It also says Endura "contains no VOC's." Look at Endura and the outdoor kitchen cabinets page for door styles. The materials guide compares options. See stainless steel for hardware. Ask your dealer for a sample so you can handle the material before you choose.
