KCMA certification
KCMA certification means a cabinet design passed the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association lab tests for structure, doors, drawers and finish, and earned its quality seal.
KCMA is a trade group for cabinet makers. Its A161.1 quality program tests a cabinet design for strength, door and drawer wear, and finish. A cabinet that earns the seal passed those lab tests.
Certification covers named product lines, not a whole company. Always ask which line is certified. The seal helps you compare cabinets when brands look alike.
Innovation Cabinetry appears in the KCMA directory. Its certificate covers named preassembled lines and states that flat pack cabinets, if sold, are not certified. So the claim does not apply to every cabinet. The EliteCraft brochure carries a "KCMA CERTIFIED" badge,. Ask a dealer to confirm the line you want. See the EliteCraft page and the how to buy cabinets guide. Read about RTA.
